NALFA has begun the process to set these voluntary standards. We at NALFA believe that a consumer should be able to make a purchasing decision without confusing jargon. Towards this end, NALFA has published its Terminology of Terms, a glossary helpful to both the trade and consumer.

Consumers now have grown to expect certain minimum performance qualities from laminate flooring. Following the publication of standards, a NALFA seal will be offered to producers that will assure the consumer that the product has passed the required tests to conform to NALFA standards. All candidates for the NALFA seal will have to be tested and examined. Shoddy imitations of laminate floor or inferior products will not be able to earn the privilege of utilizing this prestigious seal.

Laminate flooring by its nature is a highly technical product that we know will continue to give satisfaction to the consumer and will continue to innovate.
